ANDY  WARHOL

From Friday, November 29, 1996, until Saturday, January 25, 1997, the Galerie Jérôme de Noirmont will present in collaboration with Andrea Caratsch an exhibition of the american painter Andy Warhol, the pope of Pop´Art.

    This exhibition will be the first show of the artist´s work in Paris since his retrospective held at the Centre Pompidou in 1991. It will feature representative works covering Warhol´s complete career as a fine artist, that is :

- The 60´s and 70´s, with his early silkscreen paintings : "Rauschenberg" (1962), "Jackie" (1964), "Flowers" (1964), "Mao" (1973), "Skull" (1976), "Hammer and Sickle" (1977), as well as a group of "Brillo Box" (1968).

- The "Reversal Paintings", 1979/80, where the artist staged his own retrospective reversing his images of the 60´s : "Black and White Retrospective" (1979), "Self-Portrait" (1979), "Mona Lisa" (1979), "Multicoloured Marylin" (1979/86) and "Twenty Green Blue Maos" (1979).

- The "Children paintings", 1983, which will be displayed at children eye-level on the fish wallpaper, specially designed by the artist for the original exhibition of these works in 1983. 20 of these paintings will be presented, including : "Panda", "Terrier", "Robot", "Parrot", etc.

- The late works of the artist, with "Dollar Sign" (1981), "Reflected" (1982), "Eva Mudocci - After Munch" (1984), "Life savers" (1985), "Be a somebody" (1985), as well as "Last Supper" (1986) from the last group of paintings done by the artist before his death.
